Downloading and Installing the Applications

Status (October 2026): Release candidate 3.0.0-rc1 of NeuroScope, Klusters, NDManager and the NDManager plugins is available: the first releases built on Qt 6. Please try it and report problems in the issues of each repository. 3.0.0 follows once the feedback is in. Progress is tracked in the revival roadmap.

Options available today:

• apt repository for Ubuntu 24.04 and newer: set up neurosuite.github.io/apt once, and the applications install and update with apt. The release candidate is in the testing component.
• Debian packages for Ubuntu 24.04 and newer (3.0.0-rc1): download the .deb of each application from its release page, together with the libneurosuite3 package attached to the same release, and install them in one step, for example sudo apt install ./libneurosuite3_*.deb ./neuroscope_*.deb ./klusters_*.deb ./ndmanager_*.deb. The NDManager plugins (spike extraction, PCA, video tracking and the processing scripts) are a separate ndmanager-plugins package.
• Ubuntu 22.04: community Qt 6 packages built by the MOBS team (Paris), available from their NeuroScope, Klusters and NDManager releases, or the AppImage below.
• AppImage for other distributions (3.0.0-rc1): a single file per application on the same release pages. Make it executable and run it.
• All-in-one package for Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 (version 2.0.0, maintained by Michaël Zugaro): the neurosuite_2.0.0-jammy_amd64.deb and neurosuite_2.0.0-noble_amd64.deb packages and the Apptainer image on SourceForge. They require Apptainer.
• Nix: each repository is a flake, for example nix run github:neurosuite/neuroscope/v3.0.0-rc1.
• Building from source with Qt 6: see the README of each repository on GitHub, or the summary here.
• Older releases (2.0.0 for Ubuntu 12.04, openSUSE 12.3 and Fedora 19, and the 2.1.0 beta for Ubuntu 14.04) remain available on SourceForge and GitHub, but do not install on current distributions.
